OUR STORY
The group came together in the early months of 2020 when, for reasons that should be obvious a few of us had openings in our calendar. We found that we had a few things in common, primarily we all saw the great potential in open and accessible public data. Initially we gathered around one of our founders brainchildren, Quick Lookup, and decided to combine forces to try to bring open data to the masses.
The first real pat-on-the-back came when we were accepted into the Startup Supernova accelerator in the summer of 2020, where the group came into is own, we gathered valuable experience and knowledge and things started progressing.
In the fall of 2020 se were honoured to receive a generous grant from the Icelandic Technology Development fund, and we realised that we could now devote our entire efforts towards a common goal. We grew the team a bit, brought on a few more capable hands and as a result we received another generous grant geared towards another project of our "Automatic Icelandic Named Entity Recognition" where we, The Reykjavík University as well as the Icelandic University, all with the aim of bringing the power of natural language processing and
deep ai to todays business data.
MEET THE CORE TEAM
Dr. Óli Páll Geirsson *
D&A
An experienced data scientist and a team builder with a Ph.D. degree in mathematical statistics. Óli has rich experience from various sectors, including gaming, and from working as a research specialist and adjunct lecturer at the University of Iceland.
*Part time for now as Chief Scientist heading the NLP/NERD project
Ingi Freyr Atlason
CMO
An experienced, versatile visual designer and a published data scientist. Focusing now on B2B marketing, his experience ranges from designing tiny local brands to art-directing and coordinating large international campaigns to statistical analysis and modeling in medical research.

We've been fortunate when it comes to grants and support, these fantastic people have facilitated access to new technology, funding and knowledge.
The projects role, on one hand, is to protect and strengthen the Icelandic language, and, on the other, to make special use of new communication technology in Icelandic society, for the benefit of the public, institutions and companies.
The role of the fund is to support research and development activities, which aim towards innovation in Icelandic industry. The Technology Development Fund is a competitive fund which issues its calls for proposals twice a year.
Startup SuperNova is an intensive ten week long business accelerator program. The aim of the program is to get you investment ready and bring your product to market.
