We are extactic to anounce that our team Þórhallur Einisson, Óli Páll Geirsson og Ingi Freyr Atlason - as well as some brilliant people from the University of Iceland and The Reykjavík University (Hafsteinn Einarsson, Hrafn Loftsson o.fl) - received a generous grant out og the Icelandic Language Processing project.
The project is called "Automatic Icelandic Named Entity Recognition" and we're convinced that this will be pivotal in moving Icelandic Natural Language Processing forward.
Special thanks to Daddi Gudbergsson for help with the grant application. Svanhvít Lilja Ingólfsdóttir for her pioneering work (amongst others) and Valdimar Ágúst Eggertsson for his keen interest in the utilisation of knowledge graphs in natural language machine learning.
